Specials Thanks

The RUEG would like to extend a special thanks to Jon Schweitzer at Jackson County for his support and cooperation in allowing and supporting the Pipes Point Project. 

December 2006  -   John Martin and Joe Velie made a trip to Wazee on the 23 and placed the "bird" on the far ridge just to the right of guide line to pipes.  They used two 100lb lift bags and scootered the concrete structure out to it's resting place.  They also made some minor adjustments to the line going to the deep platform and pulled the ball under for the winter.  Visibility was a little better and the water temp was about 40 degrees. 

January 2007 - It is the plan at this point to do further work and install the dive platform in the early part of January.  Please watch the Pipes Point thread on Blackdive.net for more details.  If anyone is going to down prior to our next work day at Pipes Point, John Preston needs someone to take some GPS coordinates.  Please contact him at by clicking here.

February 2007 - The date set to install the new dive platform is February 17th and 18th.  If the ice is too thin to drive on Jackson County will have a crew to drag the platform out on the ice. (Jackson County would like a minimum of 12" of ice before driving on it.)  (Go to page four for installation details.)
