Practice Dive 1

1. Modified S Drill (just deploy the long hose)
2. Remove and replace mask
3. S Drill
4. Valve Drill
5. Ascent/Descent drill (ascend and descend together in 10' increments with 30 second stops & 30 second moves) from whatever depth to the surface and back down
6. Shoot a bag
7. Ascend with the bag

Once that is hammered down, try doing an OOA in the middle of the Ascent/Descent drill and still make the stops and keep on schedule (i.e. surface in the same amount of time you would have were there no failures)

Practice Dive 2

1. OOA drill mid-water at random time during dive.
2. Valve shutdown drill at max depth and at safety stop.
3. Dive with stage bottles
4. Practice running guide lines.
5. Swim as close as possible to bottom without touching or silting.
6. By touch only, remove and replace stages, safety reel, line cutter, spare mask.
7. Remove and replace mask--often--and do some swimming and perform some tasks without it on.

Practice Dive 3

· Do the skills in the mid-water column with no visible references and try not to move 3 ft or so or break trim by 20 degrees or so.

Notes:

Some procedures that can make things go smoother:
· Assign, pre-dive, which drills will be done, in what order, and who goes first, second, etc.
· With regards to the S-drill, whoever is first, is the one OOA first. With a little work, you can get all your critical skills done, S-drills, valve drills, in a team of three done in less than 10 minutes and can then go and enjoy the rest of the dive.

· With regards to a 3 man team and S-drills, it helps if the 3rd team member (the uninvolved one) positions him/herself most optimally to assist in the OOA drill...this means that if the team is positioned facing each other in a triangle, the 3rd member should be positioned to the right of the OOA diver, as otherwise, the hose itself will kind of block the 3rd team member out of the drill should some real assistance become necessary."
